Coaching Program Leader & Head Coach

Morteza Shiari

Over a decade of coaching at USA Volleyball, UCLA Men's Volleyball, and the USA National Team Development Program - now leading OCVA's coaching philosophy.

Orange County Volleyball Association's coaching programs are led by Coach Morteza Shiari, who brings extensive experience from national team, collegiate, and high-performance development environments.

With over a decade of coaching experience, Coach Shiari has served in key roles with USA Volleyball and UCLA Men's Volleyball, and currently contributes to the USA Volleyball National Team Development Program (NTDP). A former captain of the Iran Men's National Team, he brings elite-level playing and coaching experience into OCVA's training philosophy.

Luc Tremblay

Founder of Vision Elite Academy with 30+ years building grassroots-to-elite volleyball programs across Canada.

Luc Tremblay is the Founder of Vision Elite Academy — one of the largest volleyball organizations in North America — and its affiliated franchise programs, including Volleyball Winnipeg, Volleyball Fraser Valley, Volleyball Edmonton, and Volleyball Calgary. The organization focuses on grassroots development and long-term athlete growth.

Luc has over 30 years of coaching experience, shaping athletes and building high-level programs.

Since launching Volleyball Winnipeg in 1999 (originally WMVA), Luc's teams have earned an incredible 27 Provincial Championship medals, captured a National title in 2007, and secured multiple top-five finishes at Nationals. His track record of success on the court is matched by his commitment to developing the next generation of coaches. Luc pioneered many of the training methods now used across VISION programs and continues to lead the Coach Development Program, ensuring every athlete receives high-quality, consistent instruction. Now based in Calgary, Luc is partnering with local coaches to create a community-focused training model outside the traditional club system — making volleyball more accessible while keeping it competitive, fun, and player-centered.

Karil serves as Founder of Skyline Volleyball Club and has held leadership roles in management and strategy within Vision Volleyball organizations, contributing to the development and expansion of large-scale volleyball programs and platforms. His work has focused on building structured systems, scalable programs, and long-term growth within the sport.

As a professional athlete, he has competed internationally across Europe and the Middle East, and has represented Iran at the youth national team level. His experience spans program development, marketing strategy, and organizational operations, with a focus on creating sustainable systems that support athletes beyond a single season.
